About this activity
From Aberdeen we travel West following the River Dee. See and hear about this historic Glen and enjoy a visit to Balmoral Castle, Highland Holiday home of the Royal Family.

Our tour starts from Aberdeen Visitor Information Centre.

We travel through Aberdeen's West end seeing the grand granite houses then along the North Deeside Road. We cross over the river Dee to the Bridge of Feugh waterfall to see if we can catch a glimpse of the salmon jumping up the falls. We then continue travelling through Banchory, Aboyne.

Heading deeper up Deeside we do a photo Stop at Crathie Kirk. This Church has been used by the Royal family for worship since Queen Victoria and Prince Albert discovered and bought Balmoral Castle & Estate.

Our main visit of the day is Balmoral Castle(entry fee required). There is free time for a tour of Balmoral Castle Ballroom and grounds. This will also be our lunch stop.

There is also an optional visit to Lochnagar Distillery(entry fee required), for a tour of the distillery and a “wee dram”(shot of Whisky)

We then return to Aberdeen Visitor, Inverurie & Huntly Information Centre.

Our Aberdeen Royal Deeside & Balmoral tour takes around 7.5 hrs.
