About this activity
This trip takes us from Accra-Kumasi either by private car, all fees paid includes transportation, admission fees, guide fees and accommodation.
• In a traditional Ghanaian society, the first thing you do in a community is to pay homage to the community head. So therefore our very first stop will be at the palace of the Ashanti King ( Osei Tutu ii ), you will be allow to take pictures and enjoy the beautiful king palace.
• We then visit the Patakro Shrine. You will listen to stories and witness traditional African medicine .
• Kejetia market is the busies markets you can find. It is the largest open market in West African, here you can buy anything and make beautiful pictures.
• Adinkra symbols are very important in the Ashanti culture, some of this symbols are carved with wood. At the Adinkra cloth printing in Ntonso you will have first hand experience on how this symbols are transfers on to clothes. It is common to see people wearing the Adinkra printed clothes at celebrations, festival or funerals.
• To escape the city we will go to Lake Bosomtwe, it is the only natural lake in the Ashanti Region and Ghana.You can spend a day at the lake and swim which is beautiful. The lake is still seen as a sacred to the chiefs and people of the region.
