About this activity
For this tour, you will visit a Gujarati home and witness a cooking demonstration followed by a hearty lunch or dinner. Depending on your comfort, you can choose to participate in the cooking or merely watch and learn.

A distinctive feature of Gujarati cuisine is the use of sweet jaggery in almost all dishes. This facet is what separates Gujarati food from all other kinds of Indian cuisines. A typical Gujarati meal consists of rice or chapatti, pulses, vegetables, kachumbar (mixed vegetable salad), farsan, papad, chutneys and pickles.

A traditional form of Gujarati Thali food is very popular and has now become a significant part of Gujarati food culture. The Thali, which is literally a large plate, has a lavish spread consisting of mouth-watering farsan snacks like khaman, khandvi, kachori, dhokla, dahi vada etc. The Thali also includes a variety of dals (lentils), vegetables, bread, papad, chutney and pickles, and traditional desserts such as jalebi, shrikhand, gulab jamun, maalpuas etc.

The menu can be customized to meet your diet preferences. Please let us know in advance if you have any food allergies.
