Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

Pass By: Bole International Airport, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Upon your arrival at Bole International Airport, you will clear immigration and proceed to baggage claim. After collecting your checked bags, clear customs and pass through the arrivals hall, you will be met by our representative, who will transfer you to your hotel.

Day 2: Fly Addis - Bahir Dar

Pass By: Bole International Airport, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Bahir Dar.

Stop At: Ura Kidane Mihret, Zege Peninsula Ethiopia
This morning you will transfer to the airport for your flight to Bahir Dar. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Later, you will take a boat cruise on Lake Tana to visit the 14th century Monastery of Ura Kidane Mihret which is the most famous of the Zege peninsula monasteries. It has a very beautiful painted maqdas and priceless collection of crosses as well as crowns.

Stop At: Blue Nile Falls, Ethiopia
In the afternoon you will drive to the village of Tis Isat to see the Blue Nile falls (please be informed that due to the newly constructed electric dam in the vicinity the water level of the falls could be very minimal.

Day 3: Drive Bahir Dar - Gondar

Stop At: Fasil Ghebbi, Gondar, Ethiopia
Today you will drive to Gondar. Set in a landscape of incomparable beauty it was once the Royal Capital of Ethiopia. Visit the incredible castles and churches built by Emperor Fassiladas and his descendants.

Duration: 4 hours

Stop At: Debre Berhan Selassie Church, Gondar, Ethiopia, Gonder Ethiopia
Later you will proceed to the fascinating Debre Birhan Selassie church. Its walls and ceilings are ornately decorated with scenes of Biblical lore and medieval history.

Day 4: Excursion Simien Mountains

Stop At: Simien Mountains National Park, Ethiopia
Today you will drive to Sanqaber in the Siemen Mountains, the most wild and spectacular of all Ethiopian landscapes. Known as 'the roof of Africa,' your visit will let you soak in the magnificent scenery and relax with a picnic lunch with a beautiful view.
Drive back to Gondar in the afternoon.

Day 5: Fly Gondar - Axum

Stop At: Stelae Field, Aksum, Ethiopia
Explore the amazing Stelae field located in the heart of this historic town. Estimated to be 1700 years old,the Stelae field is home to Seven of these large hand carved Stela, with the tallest being 21 metres high. The largest Stela however never made it to great heights and now this 500-ton beast lies broken on the floor, a magnificent site in any case

Stop At: Queen of Sheba's Bath, Enno Littmann St., Axum Ethiopia
Visit Queen of Sheba’s Bath, a huge water reservoir, carved into solid rock.
Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Queen of Sheba Palace, Axum old road to shire. right side of the road before joining the new highway, Axum Ethiopia
Explore the ruins of a substantial Palace in Aksum allegedly constructed under the biblical Queen of Sheba who ruled Ethiopia during the 6th Century. The ruins are in the western part of Aksum, across the road from the Gudit stelae field.

Day 6: Fly Axum - Lalibela

Pass By: Aksum Airport, Aksum, Ethiopia
This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Lalibela.

Stop At: Rock-Hewn Churches of Lalibela, Lalibela 1260 Ethiopia
Lalibela, also known as ‘Africa’s Petra,’ is Ethiopia’s crown jewel. It is home of the most famous churches in the country and is the scene of many major religious ceremonies. You will visit the magnificent rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, which are called the “Eighth Wonders of the World.” These churches were hand-hewn out of solid rock between 800 - 1200 AD and are still active worship places.

Day 7: Excursion to Genete Mariam

Stop At: Genete Mariam Rock Church, Debre Sina Kebele near to Asheton Hotel, Lalibela Ethiopia
Today you will have an excursion to Genete Mariam, one of the most interesting churches in Lalibela’s outlying area. Genete Mariam is a large monolith carved into a pink-tinged outcrop near the source of the Tekaze River. Supported by pillars, the church is very different from any of the excavations in Lalibela in that it is not hidden within a trench, but carved openly on a rocky hilltop, though the cover of scaffolding detracts from the impact of seeing it from afar.
According to tradition, Genata Mariam was excavated during the reign of Yakuno Amlak, the king who 'restored' the Solomonic line in the early 13th century

Day 8: Fly Lalibela - Addis

Day 9: Sightseeing Addis & Departure

Stop At: Entoto Hill, Addis Ababa Ethiopia
Today you will enjoy sightseeing in around Addis Ababa. Begin your city tour in Addis with a drive up north to Mount Entoto, a historical place where Emperor Menelik II built his palace, you will also enjoy splendid views of the city .

Stop At: Ethnological Museum, Addis Ababa University Main campus, Siddist Kilo, አዲስ አበባ, Ethiopia
Descending down to Addis, you will proceed to the Ethnographic museum, which displays a very large collection of Ethiopian crafts and items of historical interest. The Museum used to be the Palace of the Last Emperor of Ethiopia: Emperor Haile Sillasie
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: National Museum of Ethiopia, King George VI Street, Addis Ababa Ethiopia
You will also visit the National Museum of Ethiopia, which houses the 3.4 million-year-old fossil of ‘Lucy’ and many other archaeological and historic findings.
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Holy Trinity Cathedral, Aratkilo area Addis, Addis Ababa 123 Ethiopia
After lunch, visit the Trinity Cathedral, built in 1941 to commemorate Ethiopian Liberation from Fascist occupation, it is the largest and most revered of all modern churches. It is also known for its European style architecture

Stop At: Addis Mercato, Kenya St Addis Ketema, Addis Ababa Ethiopia
To wrap up your tour, we will drive through the largest open-air market in Africa.
