About this activity
You will be picked up from your hotel between 7:30am and 8:00am. After which you would head 50 Kms west from Addis Ababa which takes approximately 1 and half hours to the source of most of the bottled water companies in Ethiopia. After heading there, you will make your way up through the forest to the top of Mount Wechecha where you will have a picnic lunch and take in the fresh air. You can expect to see the Abyssinian Catbird, Banded Barbet, Golden-backed Woodpecker, Black-headed Forest Oriole. Among the wildlife species recorded here are: Menelik’s Bushbuck, Colobus Monkey, Serval, Grey Duiker, Hyena, Warthog, Porcupine and Civet Cat. You will then head towards Addis Ababa through the Ambo road and make a stop at the historic town of Addis Alem where you will visit the Palace of Emperor Menielik and church of Mariam, which was planned to be the counterpart of the Mariamtsion Church in Axum. You will see some interesting paintings and a small museum nearby which contains clothes and decorations of former Ethiopian rulers. You will then be driven back to Addis to be dropped of at your hotel.
