About this activity
Day 1: Adelaide to Flinders Ranges
We head for the hillside vineyards of the Clare Valley. After lunch, start enjoying the expansive views of Flinders Ranges as we weave our way towards Wilpena Pound. (L, D)
Day 2: Flinders Ranges to William Creek
We pass by the mining town of Leigh Creek and visit the gallery of outback eccentric Talc Alf at Lyndhurst. We stop in Marree for some lunch beside the old Ghan rail station. We are now on the renowned Oodnadatta Track as we pass by Australia’s largest salt lake, Lake Eyre. We camp at William Creek (B, L, D)
Day 3: William Creek to Coober Pedy
See the desert landscapes and Anna Creek Station, the world’s largest cattle station. Today’s first stop is Lake Cadibarrawirracanna. We then arrive in Coober Pedy, the “Opal Capital of the World”. We take a town tour and view an underground house, a mine tour. The afternoon is free. Overnight in an underground bunkhouse. (B, L)

We’ll be honest, there’s a fair bit of driving today. From Coober Pedy we travel across the Moon Plains, past the Dingo Fence, past Breakaways Reserve, and into Yulara. Make sure you have your Ipod fully charged and your neck cushion handy. (B, L, D)
Day 5: Yulara to Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Rise early and be rewarded with a glorious sunrise. Walk around the base of Uluru, which is of great spiritual significance to the Anangu people. We walk to the cave paintings near Mutitjulu Waterhole where you wiill be in the hands of an Anangu guide who will share the stories of this unique landscape and explain the Art, the Culture and connection to Land. The afternoon is free. (B, L, D)
Day 6: Uluru to Kings Canyon
Today, explore Kata Tjuta. Like Uluru, Kata Tjuta is sacred to the Anangu people and it’s believed to be 500 million years old. Return to camp for lunch before travelling to Kings Canyon. Spend the night in an exclusive campsite inside the park. (B, L, D)
Day 7: Kings Canyon to Alice Springs
Watarrka National Park is central Australia’s answer to an oasis.
