Alpaca Farm Day tour

Ideally located midway between the world renowned tourist regions of McLaren Vale and Kangaroo Island, Softfoot is home to some of the highest quality alpacas in the world.

Our privately owned marsupial sanctuary was established on the farm by Gary and Sandy Retallick as a Genetic Ark for Australia's rare and endangered Marsupial wildlife.

This day tour gives participants the opportunity to explore 600 dramatic acres in the picturesque Hindmarsh Valley, South Australia (near Victor Harbor), experiencing Australian farm lifestyle and cuisine. While taking a ride over the undulating property in one of our ATV buggies, participants search for our resident wild Australian marsupials such as Kangaroos, Koalas and Echidnas before disembarking to meet our friendly world class alpacas, feeding them and taking them for a walk; all the while learning about the virtues of conservation farming and alpaca fibre. Spend time exploring the natural setting, sampling our wines or discovering our rare and endangered marsupials inside our purpose built predator proof enclosures. Barbeque lunch included.
