Your full-day tour starts with morning pickup from Adelaide. Hop into the sturdy and comfortable 4WD vehicle for an easy 40-minute drive to McLaren Vale, a region known for excellent wine but also producing great handcrafted beer.
Begin at Goodieson’s Brewery where you can taste a range of brews, including a tasty Pilsner and a German-style Maibock. Learn about their award-winning boutique brewery and, if available, meet expert brewer Jeff Goodieson.
Next, go for an off-road spin to an exclusive location with stunning views across McLaren Vale and the southern coast. Then move on to Red Poles, a venue that features Vale Ale Brewing Company. Located in an authentic Australian bush setting, Red Poles is the ideal place to sample Vale Ale's Australian IPA and their popular American-style dark lager.
Worked up an appetite? Tuck into a delicious 2-course outdoor lunch at an exclusive location fully catered by the Salopian Inn restaurant. Dessert and drinks can be purchased separately; the staff is happy to suggest drink pairings for the food.
Hunger satiated, continue your beer quest at Ekhidna Beer Haus, where among the choices they serve an intriguing half-beer, half-ginger beer drink. Then hang on as your guide goes for a drive down stunning Silversands beach, next to Gulf St Vincent (if conditions permit). Stop for photo ops, fresh air and a tasting of another great brew.
Turn back towards Adelaide and visit Myponga's microbrewery, The Smiling Samoyed, to sample their collection of superior suds. The building sits next to the Myponga reservoir where wild kangaroos loll in the sunshine, grazing on lush grasslands. After brews and kangaroos, relax on the 45-minute return trip to Adelaide.
