About this activity
Mamta and her son Shaurya will welcome you into their tastefully decorated, artistic home. Mamta will give you a brief tour of her kitchen so you can have a better understanding of the spices used in Indian cooking. Her well-stocked pantry is a true reflection of her love for food and cooking. Learn how the cuisine of Uttar Pradesh has been influenced by Mughal cooking techniques and is known for its use of mutton (goat), paneer (cheese), and rich spices including cardamom and saffron.

Your meal will be served at the dining table and might include traditional dishes such as white mutton stew, shammi kebab (mincemeat cutlets), chicken kofta (meatball curry), mutter paneer (peas and fresh cheese), sukhi arbi (dry colocasia leaves), and gajar ka halwa (carrot pudding).

Leave Mamta's home with new friends and a memorable experience in Agra.

Mamta's husband travels often but if he is home during your visit he will show you how to tie a turban and make a paratha. Please note, this is not a professional cooking class, rather this experience is a visit into an authentic, local home to meet a local person and share the culture and cuisine together.
