This monastery is of great interest and has got a particular charm due to its cloistered nuns, Our Lady of the Dove Rosata still live in the monastery and have no contact with the external world. However during our visit we will have the chance to interact with them through a very tiny hole made on a wooden manhole which will allow us to speak with them and ask for the famous “Biscotti ricci” a tasteful local specialty which consist in biscuits made on ancient recipes to assemble the almond of the Leopard. This delicacy it is mentioned in the famous novel by Tomasi di Lampedusa and will be for you of great pleasure to try. The place and the mystical and miraculous events that occurred hundreds of years ago in this place are accurately described in the novel, the relics of the Blessed Corbera, pseudonym used by the writer to celebrate Isabella Tomasi, are preserved and venerated today in the little church of the monastery, the stone that the devil himself throws to the woman is visible behind one of the grates. This is one of the few remaining cloistered monasteries in Sicily, where the access is prevented almost anyone.
