What To Expect When booking this Great Barrier Reef aerial adventure, you have five tour options to choose from, all of which depart by seaplane from the Whitsundays Airport.
Panorama Tour: 4.5 hours total duration; 1.5 hours of flying time.
The most comprehensive of all four tours, this half-day experience starts with a seaplane flight over Heart Reef, a heart-shaped coral reef that can only be appreciated from the air, before landing at Hardy Lagoon, where can go snorkeling and enjoy a glass-bottom boat tour. Then head to Whitehaven Beach for an hour of relaxation on this stretch of bright white sand. Enjoy a glass of sparkling wine while you marvel at the aquamarine water, and stay hydrated with water, fruit juice and light snacks.
Reef Adventure Tour: 3 hours total duration; 1 hour of flying time.
On board the seaplane, soar over to Hardy Lagoon, taking in a view of Heart Reef during the 30-minute flight, and then land on the water for your glass-bottom boat tour,. With its underwater viewing chamber and snorkeling platform, the boat offers up-close looks at the marine life and reef in the calm water. You have one hour on the boat and another hour of snorkeling time; if you don’t want to get in the water, you may stay on the boat, relaxing on the sun or shade decks. Flotation devices, snorkel gear and instruction are provided, as are fruit juice, Australian sparkling wine, water and light snacks.
Whitehaven Experience: 2.5 hours total duration; 30 minutes of flying time
Fly by seaplane to Whitehaven Beach, known for its stunningly white silica sand. During your 15 minute flight to Whitehaven Beach listen to your pilot’s narration while soaring over the swirling sands of Hill Inlet. After a smooth landing, you have one hour and half on the beach to relax in the sunshine and go swimming. Sparkling wine, water, fruit juice and light snacks are provided, as are beach umbrellas so you can stay protected from the sun.
Reef and Whitehaven Flight: 1 hour total
Take off in your seaplane for a scenic flight over the Whitsundays, gazing down in awe at Heart Reef, lush isles and white-sand beaches that dot the sparkling blue Pacific. Fly over Whitehaven Beach for an aerial view of its bright white sand. This tour includes a Touch-and-go water landing at the Great Barrier Reef (subject to weather conditions).
Reef and Whitehaven Discovery 2.5 hours total duration; 1 hour flying time
From your seaplane take in the aerial views of the Whitsunday Islands, Whitehaven Beach, Hill Inlet, Bait Reef, Hook Reef, Hardy Lagoon and of course Heart Reef. Visit Whitehaven Beach in style, landing gracefully at an area of the beach with few or no other visitors. You'll have an hour on Whitehaven Beach where you are free to relax, sunbathe, swim and explore this remarkable pure silica beach.

Perfect arrangement and very careful customer care who ensure us seeing the Heart Reef with very nice weather. Also the Whiteheaven Beach tour is perfectly surprisingly beautiful and enjoy!
I left a review on Trip Advisor already but had such a good day I will copy it for the persons interested in booking this tour : First of all, I have to say the team at Air Whitsunday is great. Our first tour got cancelled because of the wind and they have been so helpful and understanding to reschedule it. Then the tour itself is amazing ! I chose the Panorama tour as a suprise for my partner and we were both speechless to see the great barrier and the heart reef from above.The weather was not great in Airlie but once in the sky it doesn't matter as the reef colors are so magical anyways ! Snorkelling for an hour allowed us to see so many different kind of fish as well as big shells and then having a lunch break on the beautiful Whitehaven beach was great. Even just landing/taking off in/from the water is a great experience ! The plane has 8 seats and we were lucky enough to have a lovely family with us. My partner and I really had the best time and I think it is the perfect tour if you're spending a very short time in Queensland too because you get to see so much in only 4 hours and a half ! Thank you guys for these memories we will never forget !

It was a wonderful experience. Due to the windy conditions, seaplane could not able to land on the water Air Whitsunday downgraded the tour to Reef and Whitehaven Flight plus Whitehaven Beach. Pilot was very friendly, and Whitehaven Beach is stunning. I will do this once more if I get the chance and recommend this tour to anybody.
