Lake Mývatn Classic

Lake Mvatn Classic tour takes you on an amazing journey through an area of extreme contrasts, bird life, flora, geothermal activity, geology, and saga. The Lake Mvatn area is by many considered the most beautiful and at the same time the most catastrophic place in Iceland. We begin our day by stopping at Goafoss Waterfall on our way to Lake Mvatn. Goafoss is a picturesque waterfall in Skjlfandafljt River. The first stop by Lake Mvatn is at the pseudo-craters of Sktustaaggar. From there we visit all the highlights of the area, such as Hverir Mud Pools, Grjtagj Rift, Dimmuborgir Lava Fields and much more. Our last stop by Lake Mvatn before our return to Akureyri is the Mvatn Nature Baths, where you can enjoy a relaxing soak in a Geothermal Pool. The entry fee to the Nature Baths is not included in the tour price but can be added as extra or paid on sight. We stop for at least 1 hour at the Nature Baths.
