Northern Lights Day Trip from Akureyri

As your driver buses you out to a prime viewing location, take in the scenery from the window. Travel into the countryside, moving further away from the urban light pollution of Akureyri, which dilutes the intensity of the show. When the city glare is far behind and the skies sufficiently dark, disembark and prepare to stargaze.

Cast your eyes upward in search of the incredible display. The Northern Lights appear in many forms: There may be a fleeting streak of spectral light across the night sky or an extended display of dazzling multicolored waves and flashes, ranging in color from green (the most common) to various shades of red, blue and purple.
