Albufeira Coast and Countryside Mountain Bike Tour

About this activity
This tour starts in Albufeira old town and soon you will be into quiet unspoiled countryside, passing Sir Cliff Richard’s famous vineyards in Guia, and along pleasant country lanes to the coast. Passing by the Salgados Lagoon, you should see a variety of bird life and maybe a turtle or two swimming in the lakes. Your ride here is along specially constructed boardwalks, which makes for easy cycling. With the high rise resort of Armação de Pera in the background, and the traditional old town of Pera nearby, you continue east through the golf resort of Salgados, finding more board walks as you continue east along the coast with lovely views down to some great beaches.
As the coast gets rockier you'll stray a little inland away from the cliff edge and then cruise down to the colorful new marina on the edge of Albufeira. Through the Marina and onward up a small hill, you can now see the spectacular main beach of Albufeira. Carefully navigating a few narrow cobbled streets of the old town, you will soon be back at your starting point by the old bus station.

Fred was really knowledgeable and just a pleasure to be with - fresh figs from the trees we rode by was a nice surprise. It was a great tour and I'd recommend it to anyone. You don't have to be Bradley Wiggins, but reasonably fit is a good start. Everyone at the tour was really helpful and you really get the impression it's about enjoying yourself first, and a business second. I never give 5 star ratings...until now. Thanks again Fred and the team. We loved it.
Our tour guide was supposed to be Paul and he was rude and arrogant. He told a friend that she couldn't even ride a bike, reducing her to tears and then kept mentioning the fact that he didn't want us to end up in hospital. The only saviour here was the lady that works in the shop, who saved our day
