Once arriving Alexandria we will start visiting :
• Kom el Shokafa or Catacombs where we will go inside a deep a spiral staircase where it ends with a principal tomb chamber.
• Pompey's Pillar: Pompey's Pillar is a Roman triumphal monument erected around 300 AD for the Roman Emperor Diocletian. The Serapeum, dedicated to Alexandria’s patron god, Serapis, was a symbol of this ancient tradition, which conflicted with the increasingly popular ideas of Christianity.
• The Citadel of Qaitbay : s a 15th-century defensive fortress located on the Mediterranean sea coast. It was established in 1477 AD. by Sultan Al-Ashraf Sayf al-Din Qa'it Bay. The Citadel is situated on the eastern side of the northern tip of Pharos Island at the mouth of the Eastern Harbour. It is a spectacular view for the sea from its upper level.
• Bibliotheca Alexandrina: The Great Library of Alexandria was one of the largest and most significant libraries of the ancient world. What we will visit is the new one where the idea of reviving the old library dates back to 1974.
Alexandria University selected a plot of land for its new library, between the campus and the seafront, close to where the ancient library once stood. Construction work began in 1995 and, after some US$220 million had been spent, the complex was officially inaugurated on 16 October 2002.
