About this activity
Day 1: Alice Springs to Kata Tjuta & Uluru Sunset

Starting in Alice Springs, we stop at an authentic outback camel farm, then continue on to the permanent campsite at Yulara for lunch before embarking to explore the 36 domes of Kata Tjuta. Here we get up close to this ancient geological formation during an afternoon hike. The perfect end to a remarkable day is watching the Rock’s rich colours change against a blazing Red Centre sunset. Depending on your mood you can choose to sleep in a permanent 4 share safari tent (bunk beds) or in a swag (Aussie bedroll) under millions of outback stars. Option upgrade to twin tents available at $75/person per tour – twin tent upgrade price includes sleeping bag and pillow. (L,D)

If you’re starting the tour in Ayers Rock we will pick you up from the Outback Pioneer Lodge (Ayers Rock Resort), or from the Ayers Rock Airport.

Day 2: Uluru to Kings Canyon

Enjoy a glorious sunrise with a walk around the base of Uluru. Deepen your understanding of the land and the Mala people during a walk with your tour guide. There’s an opportunity to purchase Aboriginal arts and crafts at the Cultural Centre before travelling to our exclusive campsite in Watarrka Nation Park (Kings Canyon). You can choose tonight to sleep in a swag (Aussie bedroll) under millions of outback stars or in one of our permanent 4 share safari tents (bunk beds). Optional upgrade to twin tents available at $75/person per tour – twin tent upgrade price includes sleeping bag and pillow. (B,L,D)

Day 3: Kings Canyon to Alice Springs

Discover the Lost City and Garden of Eden on a 6km hike in Kings Canyon. Admire and explore the towering walls and crevices of Watarrka National Park. The photo opportunities are endless in Kings Canyon so be sure to bring your camera. At the end of the trek it’s time to refuel with a bite to eat before making the journey back to the remote centre of Alice Springs. (B,L)

This was a professionally run tour that featured great attractions, history, and funny commentary. The meals were hot and delicious. The bedding and sleeping arrangements were great. Overall, it was a great experience and would recommend it to all. Our tour guide Phil was great, too!!

This trip was amazing from the moment we were picked up to the moment we were dropped off. Suzanne and Dani clearly enjoyed what they were doing and never made what they said or did seem rehearsed like many other tour guides. Because of the variance in ages, the guides even found a way to create a game of bocce out of fruits found on the ground. We had a great mix of time to hike around the sites on our own as well as a more guided explanation of the cultural importance of aspects of Uluru. The food varied for each meal, and there was always plenty to go around. If someone suddenly said they didn't really like tomatoes, a planned dish for that evening would be adjusted slightly when possible, of course, which is nothing to be expected when the supplies are hard to come by. I had been concerned about the winter nights, and it was cold, but sleeping in swag under the stars was comfortably warm. The most important thing to remember is to layer clothing because you can start in the cold morning, but by midday, you will be hot with that intense sun. Overall, I would highly recommend this tour as a great way to spend a couple of nights in the Outback with knowledgeable and entertaining guides!

Cannot recommend enough! Great guide and chefs, loved everything we saw. very well organized and thought out. It's a very full 3 days, not much downtime in camp so if you're looking for some rest and relaxation this is not your trip!
