Organic wine and extra virgin olive oil tasting at Casa di Baal near Amalfi

Casa di Baal is a farm located just a few kilometers from the Amalfi Coast and the archaeological site of Paestum, producing mainly organic wines and extra virgin olive oil. The Ancient Greeks and Romans chose this land more than 2000 years ago for its privileged location and the Romans called this region “Campania felix” which literally means fertile countryside.
Today the farm is run by the Salerno family that lives on-site and aims to run it as a closed cycle where everything that is consumed is made in the farm, in complete respect of nature.
The farm is located in an exceptional natural context: it is 150 meters above sea level, between the Amalfi Coast and the Cilento Coast. The influence of the sea breeze – the coastline is less than 10km away – and of the mountains in the back give a unique characteristic to the wines produced here.

The visit to the farm is a complete experience: it starts with the tour of the vineyards with an explanation of the company's philosophy, based on biological farming and biodynamic processes; it then proceeds to the winery where the grapes are transformed into wine, and where the wines are bottled and stored for aging. It is also possible to have a guided tour of the olive oil mill where you'll explore the different stages of the extra virgin olive oil production. At the end of the tour, which is always led by a member of the family, you will taste the wines and extra virgin olive oil paired alongside some traditional locally-produced food.

Two different tours and tastings have been designed in order to accompany you on your journey to discover the flavors and scents of the territory.

• Basic Wine Tour (Duration 90 minutes)
  A guided walk among the vineyards and olive groves, and a visit of the cantina and cellars with an explanation of the winemaking process. There will also be a visit to the olive oil mill and an illustration of the olive oil-making process. Following this, you will be offered a guided tasting of 2 of our wines Fiano di Baal and Rosso di Baal. The wines will be accompanied by bread and extra virgin olive oil produced in the farm, a selection of cured meats, local cheeses, and homemade biscuits.

• Full Wine Tour (Duration 120 minutes)
  A guided walk among the vineyards and olive groves, and a visit of the cantina and cellars with an explanation of the winemaking process. There will also be a visit to the olive oil mill and an illustration of the olive oil-making process. Following this, you will be offered a guided tasting of 5 wines: Bianco di Baal, Rosso di Baal, Fiano di Baal, Aglianico di Baal and our Classic method spumante Oro di Baal. The wines will be accompanied by bread and extra virgin Olive Oil produced in the farm, a selection of cured meats, local cheeses, tomato or bean caponata, and homemade biscuits.
