About this activity

You will be picked up at 06:30 am from your accommodation in Amman in a private A/C vehicle destined for Petra. Following a 3-hour drive along Jordan’s desert highway, you will arrive at Petra and be met by your guide. Start Petra site visit starting from the entrance, strolling through the narrow chasm of the Siq, you will come face to face with the iconic columns of the Treasury; Petra’s most photographed building. (Minimum 3 hours), then you will be transferred to Wadi Rum in a one and half hour drive. Enjoy a 2 hours Bedouin Jeep Tour into the desert where your Bedouin guide will show you Lawrence’s spring, Thamudic inscriptions, Khaza;I Canyon, Sand dunes & sunset. Afterwards, you will be driven back to your original departure point in Wadi Rum to proceed back to your drop off point in Amman.

Petra; the capital of the Nabataean Arabs, and one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world, Petra the world wonder is undoubtedly Jordan's most valuable treasure and greatest tourist attraction, and it is visited by tourists from all over the world. Carved into the pink-hued Sharah Mountains by ancient Nabataean communities, the UNESCO-listed this 2,000-year-old city as the masterpiece of ancient architecture.

It is not known precisely when Petra was built, but the city began to prosper as the capital of the Nabataean Empire from the 1st century BC, which grew rich through trade in frankincense, myrrh, and spices.

This excursion is not recommended in case you have bad health conditions as it involves much walking and effort. Nevertheless, horse carriages are available at Petra (you can ask your guide to provide one and pay on spot)
The Guides according the Guide Association does not climb up the monastery with the clients. This is done by clients own responsibility and sometimes there is no time.
Wadi Rum jeeps are the only ones available by the Ministry of Tourism.
Horse ride in Petra from entrance to Siq is included in the Petra entrance fee, but not recommended. If you shall take the horse ride it shall be on your own responsibility.
Local guide in Petra will be accompanying you from the entrance up to Qasr Al Bint (a 3 hour journey) if you want to proceed further, you will have to pay the extra for the guide directly.
