Private Tour: Lowest Location on Earth and Baptism Site of Jesus from Amman

Your friendly driver will be at the lobby of your Amman hotel at 9am for pickup with a transfer in an AC private, climate-controlled vehicle with your driver. Be sure to bring your bathing suit, towel, sun hat, and sunscreen.

Then, journey to the east bank of the Jordan River and UNESCO-listed Bethany Beyond the Jordan, the place where it’s believed Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist.

On arrival, your driver will assist to arrange your entrance to the Baptism Site. Then, head inside and choose to ride the shuttle or walk to the baptism site. See the different areas, including the location of Jesus’ baptism, remnants of Roman and Byzantine churches, and other points of interest. Your driver will be waiting at the entrance, the tour is usually a 1.5 hour experience. A local guide is available for hire. 

Afterward, continue to the Dead Sea. Sitting 1,312 feet (400 meters) below sea level, this salt lake stands at the lowest point on Earth, and boasts salt-rich waters that make floating easy. The unique climactic conditions here are also known to be beneficial, revitalizing and rejuvenating the body.

Head to a resort hotel with the Dead Sea’s largest private beach, and enjoy free time to float, sunbathe, swim in the freshwater pools, and have a meal (own expense) at the hotel restaurants.

Finally, rejoin your driver and return to Amman, where a late afternoon hotel drop-off concludes your tour.
