About this activity

Your friendly and professional driver will meet you at 06.30am in your hotel lobby in Amman to transfer you to Petra and then Wadi Rum. You will start off on a pleasant trip on the Desert highway to Petra, where you will have the chance to stop for a coffee break or stretch. The drive will take approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.

Once in Petra, your driver will assist to arrange your entrance fee (included) at the Petra Visitors Center. At the center you also have the option to hire a local Petra guide (additional cost) in multiple languages to enhance the Petra experience.. You are able to enjoy lunch during your time in Petra with an array of cafes and snacks to choose from (not included). Once you are done with Petra, you will meet your driver at your agreed upon location and time to continue to Wadi Rum. The ride from Petra to Wadi Rum is about 1.5 hour driving time.

In Wadi Rum, your driver will take you to the Wadi Rum Village which includes a gift shop, restaurant, washrooms, small museum and the option to hire a Bedouin Jeep ride to explore Wadi Rum further (not included). A Bedouin Jeep ride deep into the desert is highly recommended and the friendly Wadi Rum residence are very hospitable to share their country with you. The most popular tour is a 2 hour jeep ride which is the ideal route to explore Jordan’s beautiful terrain and answer the question’ Why Hollywood chooses Jordan’s Natural Wonder of the World as their movie back drop’,

After you Wadi Rum experience, your driver will be waiting at the Village to take you back to Amman approx. arrival between 9pm.

My guide picked me up promptly and we drove to the Wadi Rum. I recommend doing this first if you are doing the Wadi Rum and Petra in 1 day. I had a great trip out into the Wadi Rum by 4x4 with a very nice guide. Then we headed to Petra where I spent 4 hours walking down to the city center and back. I recommend the walk and also the Petra Museum, which is adjacent to the entrance. My guide let me pick the way back to my hotel at the Dead Sea, so we went across to the Dead Sea and drove up the coast to the resort. It was absolutely beautiful and I highly recommend it. Al in all it was a very memorable day and i high recommend it and my guide.

Gives you a great feel for Petra and Wadi Rum. In retrospect, as a solo traveler, would have done Wadi Rum first and then Petra.

a really long day. ideally we would have done the overnight tour and done one location each day but time did not allow for that. Firas, our driver, did a great job on the 14 hour day! we rode a camel, and a horse, and did a jeep ride and wow..so much for one day! and then he had arranged a really nice dinner for us to eat a local dish. he had good stopping points along the way as well so we had nice toilet facilities.

Amazing tour for travellers who have limited time in Jordan. The tour guide - Amin is very knowledgeable and a nice guy. He suggested to alter the trip to head to Wadi Rum first from Amman instead of Petra, which turned out to be very valuable. This allowed me to wander around Petra for longer time. In Wadi Rum, Amin introduced me to Hesham, another tour guide and we went on Hesham's pick up truck to travel within Wadi Rum for 2 hours - you'll actually need a few days to discover most of Wadi Rum but Hesham brought us to the most interesting spot within the valley. The tour in Wadi Rum ended with a short tea break This tour within Wadi Rum is not included in the package - you have to pay extra Then we left Hesham and drove to Petra - 1.5 hours journey from Wadi Rum and drove across Wadi Musa to reach the entrance of Petra. Then you are free to enjoy and wander around Petra - such an amazing experience. Again, Petra would require a few days to fully discover the whole awesomeness it has got to offer, but 5 - 6 hours would be enough for traveller with limited time in Jordan to experience Petra. Just bare in mind there will be a lot of aggressive sellers along the road - just politely say no to them. Would definitely recommend this tour!
