About this activity
At approximately 3pm, embark on a tonga (horse-drawn carriage) to visit the historical sites of Amritsar’s layered past.

Arrive at the Summer Palace of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, which is now a museum commemorating life of the ‘Lion of Punjab’ and the rich Sikh legacy. A guide will take you through the museum which also features a diorama depicting the Maharaja's six major battle exhibitions supported by battle-field sound effects.

Spend time in the adjoining Ram Bagh, a lush garden conceptualized from the Mughal garden of Lahore, and named after Guru Ram Das, the fourth Sikh Guru. Hop back on to your tonga for a ride past the bustling market streets. You will see many hawkers lined together showcasing numerous arts and crafts of the state with rich influence of Mughal and Pathan elements. Witness the shops selling colourful juttis (traditional pointy-toed footwear), Phulkari (traditional embroidery of Punjab) stoles and fabrics. After which, you will be dropped back to your hotel.
