Stop At: De Waegh Monnickendam, Middendam 5-7, 1141 BC Monnickendam, Netherlands
We take you on a 30 minute guided walk through the lovely unspoilt harbour town of Monnickendam. We stop for real Dutch apple pie and coffee (this costs about 5 euros an it not included in the price of the tour) in a quaint very old building!

Stop At: Bezoekerscentrum Beemster, Middenweg 185, 1462 HJ Middenbeemster The Netherlands
We visit the Unesco World Heritage site that is the Beemster Polder, we don't go to the visitors centre abut this is a handy locator for the tour description. The Beemster was the very first lake that was drained to make farmland in North Holland. Here we explain how the lake was drained between 1608 and 1612 and we visit a family farm where they grow tulips, potatoes and have self milking dairy cows that supply milk to the Beemster Cheese collective.

Stop At: Museummolen Schermerhorn, Noordervaart 2, 1636 VL Schermerhorn The Netherlands
We guide you through the lovely old windmill that is usually pumping water, as it has done for almost 400 years. We can guide you right through the mill to the very top so you can actually see the whole mechanism working. There are plenty of great photo opportunities at the mill and we will take as many photos of you as you wish.
We round off the day with a cheese and wine picnic at the mill before the 40 minute drive back to Amsterdam. The picnic is included in the price but the entrance to the windmill is not.
