Amsterdam Museum Willet-Holthuysen entrance ticket
The Museum Willet-Holthuysen is a canal-front house museum in Amsterdam that once belonged to Louisa and Abraham Willet. This rich, beautiful example of an early 19th century residence showcases rooms designed by the couple and their amazing art collection.
Louisa inherited the house from her parents in 1855 and married her long-term suitor Abraham Willet, a passionate art-collector. They redecorated their home together and before long, Abraham amassed an artwork collection that boasted a variety of stunning pieces: furniture, silver, trinkets, paintings, prints, drawings and photographs.
See the house museum's sumptuous rooms, the Willet family's art collection and the gorgeous 18th century French garden characterized by beautiful symmetry, green hedera plants, clipped box hedges, pools and 18th-19th century statues. An unexpected peaceful oasis in the heart of the Dutch capital, the garden never fails to pleasantly surprise.
