About this activity

Take a sneak peek into the rich history of Amsterdam with a visit to the Museum of Our Lord in the Attic. Built in 1663, the structure is a bourgeois home whose attic houses a concealed Catholic Church. This church was built during the times Catholics found it difficult to practice their religion in the open. When times improved, the church was converted into a museum in 1888. This is the second oldest museum in Amsterdam, that has been recently refurbished to resemble its original setting. Plug in an audio guide and tour the hallowed grounds. During your visit, you can marvel at antique Dutch furniture, old clocks, and ageing tiles. On the lower floors, you can encounter a wide collection of silver items that were made for the secret Church, religious artefacts, and a collection of paintings. A unique museum experience that cannot be missed!
