The Efteling Theme Park

Efteling is one of the oldest and largest theme parks in the world. With more than 5 million visitors every year, it is one of the most popular theme parks in Europe. It was opened way back in 1952 and began as a nature park with a Fairytale Forest being its primary attraction. It was created by the renowned artist and designer Anton Pieck. It has now transformed into a full-fledged theme park, with a number of romantic and cultural themes. Perfect for all ages, it is fantasy-based with fairy tales, myths, fables and legends forming the dominant topic of the park. Over 30 attractions exist currently, and will keep visitors occupied for the entire day. Open all year round, during the winters, a Winter Efteling theme is maintained, and a few water rides are closed during this season.

You will be spoilt for choice, with such a large number of rides open to you. The Steam Carousel will prove a pleasant experience for kids. For those who love arcade style games, the Game Gallery is the perfect stop. For those seeking more thrilling rides, George and the Dragon and Baron 1898 are ideal roller coaster rides. Python is another ride that is fit for all the daredevils. With two loops and a corkscrew, an electrifying ride is guaranteed. Symbolica will take you on an enchanting tour of a palace, filled with surprises and vivid imagery. The Fairytale Forest is the typical storybook forest that has come to life. From Sleeping Beauty and Little Red Riding Hood to Pinocchio and Rumpelstiltskin, you can see, hear and feel some of the most famous stories of all time in this magical forest. Villa Volta is another legendary attraction and was the first "madhouse" in the world. Similar to a haunted house, the illusion that the building is upside down will leave you baffled and amazed.

The entire theme park is based on fantasy, and there is not a single nook or cranny that disappoints.
