Tour of Amsterdam with a lunch in a local's home
This tour is the perfect introduction to Amsterdam for travelers. It includes some well-known locations and typical Dutch sites, such as the red-light district, city center, museum square, canals, and typical Dutch architecture.
Schedule:
Walk through the city center, pass by the canals, the flower market, the red light district, Dam square and some unique buildings from the past 20 years. In between, the host will lead you to a local cafe for a coffee break. You will also get to visit a shop specialized in Dutch design and see where the locals go to pubs and which pub was already there in Rembrandt's time.
After two hours the tour ends at the local guide's house for a fresh, homemade, typical light Dutch lunch, including beverages. The house is located by the main river running through Amsterdam, the IJ river, and very close to Central Station. During nice weather, participants can enjoy lunch by the river. The neighborhood is full of icons of modern residential architecture with views over the water. You can enjoy a walk along the river after lunch.
