Volendam Marken and Zaanse Schans - Semi private tour (Maximum 8 people)

Volendam & Marken
Volendam and Marken were originally harbours at the Zuiderzee (southern sea). When the Dutch constructed the Afsluitdijk (enclosing dike) in 1932 the Zuiderzee became a lake that we now call the IJsselmeer. Volendam and Marken are both former fisherman's town but are now more famous for their original Dutch clothing, their cheese- and wooden shoe factory which we will of course visit during the tour.
Zaanse Schans
Around lake the Zaan you will see many original windmills and of course lots of water. These mills were used for all kinds of purposes. We will walk through this area and visit an authentic windmill.
09.30 – 10.00 Pick up hotel and transfer to Zaanse Schans
10.00 – 11.30 Visit Zaanse Schans
11.30 – 12.30 Transfer to Marken
12.30 – 13.00 Visit Wooden Shoe factory
13.00 – 14.00 Lunch
14.00 – 15.00 Ferry to Volendam
15.00 – 16.00 Visit Cheese Factory & free time Volendam
17.00 – 18.00 Return to hotel
