Volendam Marken Express Boat cruise including vehicle transport

For over 80 years, the Volendam-Marken Express operates a ferry service (daily, every 30-45 minutes, starting at 10.30 am in Volendam) between the two old fishing/harbour villages of Volendam and Marken. This boat tour is beloved by locals and tourists alike. From the boat you have a great view of the fishermen’s houses standing along the dyke.
The Volendam-Marken Express is a fantastic experience for young and old and takes 30 minutes, from the port of the world-famous harbour-city Volendam, along the former Zuiderzee, to the old fisherman’s village located on the former island Marken! With an enjoyable boat trip with the Volendam-Marken Express, you have the opportunity to visit this two unique villages in one day. You will be surprised by how different Volendam and Marken are, within a distance of only a few kilometers. Enjoy a coffee and apple-pie on the boat’s sun terrace during your crossing and the amazing view over the Gouwzee and the Ijselmeer.
The fleet consists of 3 luxury ships where you can sit both in- or outside and enjoy the unique view. English / Dutch Audio guide on board as well as WiFi. Don’t forget to bring your bike with you, so you can explore the whole wide area. Bicycles are welcome on board for a small extra fee.
Ferries depart from Volendam Harbour every 30 to 45 minutes and the journey takes approximately 30 minutes. We hope to see you on board soon!
