Dog Sledding with Dallas Seavey Racing - a professional Iditarod kennel that excels and dog care and racing.
Group dinner at a local eatery in Talkeetna (D)

Group Breakfast in Talkeetna (B)

This itinerary is fully guided by a LOCAL Alaskan and expert tour guide. You will learn about dog sledding, our official State sport, as well as the Aurora Borealis (northern lights). This tour operates in most weather conditions, so spotting the Aurora is never guaranteed. We also strongly urge you to dress for the Alaskan winter. If you need help, please contact the operator after you book your tour. This is very important! If you are cold, you will not be able to enjoy the activities. It will be colder than you expect!
A rental gear program is available!

SPECIAL NOTE: When there is no snow, dog sledding will be done cart style, and snowshoeing will not be necessary, although aurora hunting will still happen.

Wonderful. Had a great time. Dog mushing started the adventure and it just kept going. The dogs seemed so happy to be able run they appeared to really want to accommodate the tourists by pulling them around. It was nice to see how well they did their part to ensure the visitors to their kennels enjoyed themselves. The folks at the kennel were eager to show us around and share their love of the dogs. The overnight stay in Talkeetna enabled the guests to see and experience life in a small Alaska town. The star lady was quite a treat to listen to. She really had a passion for sharing her knowledge on the skies. After being educated on the science behind the northern lights we embarked on a walk into the darkness to seek out the northern lights. Northern lights aside, I enjoyed the walk itself. Our guide was easy to speak to and very informative. She really took the time to make sure that everyone on the tour was getting their needs met. I would recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience dog mushing in Alaska and wanting to experience a little small town life. One thing I thought would make this trip even more of an experience is to make the overnight stay into a two night stay. This would give the participants a little more time to venture out into some of the activities Talkeetna has to offer. Bottom line this was a great experience and I would recommend it and consider doing it again.
