Itinerary
Our Difficult Peak Ascents offer:
-10-15 miles
-min. 3,000 feet, max. 7,000 feet elevation gain
-up to 10 hours
-a small guide to guest ratio: maximum 6 participants per hike
This experience is for individuals who want the challenge of the summit. We will summit one of the peaks near Anchorage and gain between 3,000 to 7,000 feet of elevation gain. Participants must be able to climb steep, sometimes slippery, uneven slopes and terrain. Some hikes are short and steep, gaining elevation quickly, while others are long and gradual with periodically steep ascents.
Ultimately, we only attempt a peak if it is a safe choice for that given day-we will not attempt a peak if participants are not dressed appropriately, if bad weather (dense fog, snow squall) has moved in around the summit, or if there are trail closures. Lucky for us, there are more than 12 peaks over 5,000 feet in elevation near Anchorage.
Together, we have EMT, CPR/first aid, and wilderness first aid experience, as well as bear and moose safety experience. We love to show people the awe-inspiring natural beauty of our home. Get into the woods with us to experience Alaska’s great wild beauty!
