Talkeetna Small-Group Day Tour from Anchorage

We will leave hotel at 7:15am toward the Anchorage Train Station and will board the Denali Star (Adventure Class) to the quaint town of Talkeetna. The train will arrive Talkeetna at 11:05am, where is a charming town. On a clear day, enjoy views of the Alaskan Range and Denali (Mt. McKinley) as the backdrop.

Explore town on your own in the afternoon, or participate in optional activities such as a glacier flight and landing, a jet-boat tour, or a rafting trip on the river. For those not in the air over Denali or racing along the river by boat, you can enjoy a guided walk through town, learn about the history of Talkeetna, and take a gentle hike along the braided rivers. Meet at Nagley’s Store for an introduction to the mayor of Talkeetna (a cat). Your guide will share stories of local climbing legends, flag-stop trains, and what life is like during the long winter.

Plan to meet up to depart Talkeetna at 5pm to head back toward Anchorage. Take a moment to relax and share stories from the day as you return to the city. Your guide will offer suggestions for your evening and dining recommendations to fit your tastes and budget.
