Itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Andasibe

Stop At: Andasibe-Mantadia National Park (Reserve of Perinet), 3 hours East of Tana, Andasibe Madagascar
Pick up in Antananarivo, and we drive east to the Peyrieras Reptile Reserve, a feeding center of endangered species (approx 3 hours) to see up close captive panther, stump-tail, Parsons and Brookesia chameleons, golden Mantella frogs, tomato frogs, Madagascar tree boas, numerous species of leaf-tailed geckos and tenrecs. The curators of the reserve usually take the animals out of their enclosures to allow close photographs.

After the visit, we continue our drive until Andasibe (1 hour). Arriving there, you will visit the “lemur island” or Vakona private reserve (a small island in a river and lake system), where habituated common brown lemurs, grey bamboo lemurs and black-and-white ruffed lemurs live. The rangers feed these species along the track allowing close encounters and excellent photograph opportunities.

Day 2: Maromizaha reserve

Stop At: Andasibe-Mantadia National Park - Reserve of Perinet, 3 Hours East of Tana, 514 Madagascar
After breakfast, a whole day to visit Maromizaha reserve (5 hours walk, medium difficulty, up and down on mountains); a mosaique forest, constitute by primary and secondary forest and walk on trails to see many wild lemurs including diademed sifakas, woolly sifakas, common brown lemur and the famous Indri (the biggest lemur of all), as well as orchids and birds. Sightings are usually close up with the animals just a few metres above us in the trees.

Inside the reserve, there are species of reptiles, amphibians too. We try to spot that.

Day 3: Andasibe - Antananarivo

Stop At: Andasibe-Mantadia National Park - Reserve of Perinet, 3 Hours East of Tana, 514 Madagascar
After an early breakfast, we will get out from the park, 2 hours walk to get to the point where the car meet us. Mantadia National Park, another rainforest area, is 2 hours from there.

You will visit Mantadia National Park the morning, still trying to spot animals the whole morning. You will have picnic lunch there. The afternoon, back to the hotel.

Day 4: Andasibe - Antananarivo

Stop At: Antananarivo Flower Market, Rue Dok Rd, Antananarivo 101 Madagascar
Today, you will be driven back to Antananarivo (4 hours drive), through Moramanga, a beautiful scenery along the way.
