Ruta Verde

1.5 hour climb, a slice of single track traversing a steep ridge. Mix climbing and technical down hill with the potential for exotic spice by throwing in a 500m long zip-line over a huge valley. This bike trip begins with a ride out of town snaking up the ridge and road for about 1.5 hours. Enter a very small Mayan hill village where the technical single-track begins. Hug the hill-side on a narrow track working to keep your balance. The ride takes us along ancient Mayan footpaths until finally dropping to a tradition hill village. *At this point you could ADD-ON ($40.) a zip-line over the canyon before you. Then stop for an ice-cold beer at an eco-lodge and take in the scenery. After your refreshing break, it is time to saddle up again and hit more single-track action through the forest until hitting the Panchoy Valley where Antigua is located and your tour ends. This is a fun diverse tour for the advanced rider.
