Stop At: Jordan Petra, Petra - Wadi Musa 77110 Jordan

You will be met at the port by a Cruising Excursions representative who will hold a sign with the Cruising Excursions logo printed on.
The drive to Petra approximately 2 hours and during this visit you will see the Siq, Treasury, Street of Facades, Royal Tombs, The theatre, the Temple and have a wonderful buffet lunch in a hotel.
The first thing you will see is the Siq also known as Siqit and it’s the main entrance to the ancient Nabatean city of Petra.
Then we will arrive at the Treasury (Al Khaznah). As with most of the other buildings in this ancient town, including the Monastery, this structure was carved out of a sandstone rock face. Al-Khazneh is one of the most elaborate temples in the ancient Arab Nabatean Kingdom city of Petra.
After seeing the Treasury, we come next to the Street of Facades, which is lined with tall, impressive tombs, with large facades or false faces on their fronts. This street eventually leads us down into the heart of the city proper.
Just past the Street of Facades you will see Petra’s massive Theatre. Classical in inspiration & design, before the Romans adjoin Nabatean. Though the Romans refurbished the building after they took over in 106, the basic design is amazing, with seats coming right down to the orchestra’s floor level.
Later on we arrive at the first of the so called Royal Tombs is the Urn Tomb. This tomb is built high on the mountain side, and requires climbing up a number of flights of stairs. Abbe' Starcky has suggested that this is the tomb of Nabataean King Malchus II who died in 70 AD. However Dr Schmidt-Colinet proposed that this is the tomb of Aretas IV. You will also see Corinthian Tomb, the Palace Tomb & the Silk Tomb.
Before going to the hotel for your buffet lunch we will visit the Great Temple One of the largest Nabatean sites in Petra is a two-level structure dating back to the 1st century BC. It was discovered in 1992 by Brown University archaeologists, who are still excavating the site today.
After visiting all the sites you will go to the hotel to have a buffet lunch then we will drive back to the port in plenty of time for your cruise ships departure.
