About this activity
We will meet early in the morning and will board Toyota land cruiser and will drive towards Lake Sevan, which is the largest lake in Caucasus as well as one of the largest, and highest freshwater lakes of the world. The lake is located on 1900 m. above sea level. We will go to Sevan Peninsula to visit Sevanavank monastery built in 874 A.C. by the daughter of King Ashot Bagratuni – Mariam. During the 9th century the Monastery became the royal citadel of the Armenian Kings. After the excursion in Peninsula, we will continue our way to village Tsovagyugh, form where we will start our hiking in Areguni mountains. On the way we will enjoy fresh mountainous air, will admire the beauty of Lake Seavn and a dense forest of Tavush region. We will head to Mount Yeghjervasar with the height 2599 m. Depending on weather conditions we will decide where to have our lunch. Having a round hiking trip we will walk back to our car and will drive back to Yerevan.
