About this activity
In the morning visit Etchmiadzin Cathedral. This is the mother church of the Armenian Apostolic Church located in the city of Vagharshapat, Armenia. Most scholars believe this to be the first Cathedral, but not the first church built in ancient Armenia. It is also believed to be the oldest cathedral in the world

After visiting the Cathedral you will visit Saint Hripsimé Church, which is one of the oldest surviving churches in Armenia. The church was erected by Catholicos Komitas atop the original mausoleum in 395 AD that contained the remains of the martyred Saint Hripsimé. The church was dedicated to Saint Hripsimé and the structure was completed in 618 AD.

The third visit will be to Church of Saint Gayane that was built by Catholicos Ezra I in the year 630. It is located within walking distance from the Etchmiadzin Cathedral. This is a 7th-century Armenian church in Vagharshapat (Etchmiadzin) the religious center of Armenia. St. Gayane.
