About this activity
Roman treasures, shady squares and plenty of Camarguais culture make Arles a seductive stepping stone into the Camargue. And if its colourful sun-baked houses evoke a sense of déjà vu, it's because you've seen them already on a Van Gogh canvas - the artist painted 200 works around town.
Discover the Roman and the Romanesque monuments of Arles which are listed on the UNESCO World Heritage sites along side with learning about Van Gogh's last few years spent in Arles , 1888- 1889 was a period of his most vibrant artwork . During our tour we will stroll down little streets of Arles in order to find out where he drew his most famous paintings including "Cafe Terrace at Night", "Starry Night Over the Rhone" or "The Yellow House".
We will walk through charming streets of Medieval city centre with cute local boutiques, gastronomic shops and lively terraces. On Saturday the longest and most famous outdoor farmer market in Arles can be visited.
