About this activity
Day one: Arusha To Tarangire - Pick up from your Hotel in Arusha at 8:30am and drive towards Tarangire national park about 2 hours’ drive from Arusha then all day game drive then overnight at Tarangire safari lodge. Since you will be on safari for seven days we will stop at the shop for you to pick up some stuff as final shopping for your own personal things. Overnight at Tarangire Safari Lodge.
Day two: Tarangire to Serengeti - After breakfast start driving toward Serengeti via Ngorongoro conservation area with on transit game drive, enjoy all afternoon game drive and overnight at Serengeti Serena lodge. As an optimal activity you can pass through Olduvai gorge early human being excavated centre, where first human skull was discovered. Otherwise you just proceed to Serengeti as you stop several times for wildlife viewing.
Day three: Northern Serengeti - After breakfast, you will start game driving heading to the northern Serengeti for full day game drive inside Serengeti for the aim of spotting migration and game drive for other wildlife as well. Then overnight at Serengeti acacia tented luxury lodge northern Serengeti. This morning you can do Baloon safari for the extra money and request.
Day four: Northern Serengeti - Another full day game drive inside Serengeti searching for migration or viewing and other wildlife. Then overnight at Serengeti acacia luxury tented camp in northern Serengeti or Mara under canvas tented luxury camp. This is a day to cover what you did not cover yesterday and more relaxed.
Day five: Northern Serengeti to Ngorongoro highland - Morning game drive in Serengeti till lunch time, then en route game drive towards Ngorongoro conservation area and overnight at Ngorongoro Serena lodge. Expect about good 4-5 hours of driving but since you will be stopping regularly for animal viewing on the way you won’t feel the distance. This day is good for Masai Village excursions as an optional activity.
Day six: Ngorongoro crater game drive - Game drive inside Ngorongoro crater for the all day and overnight at Karatu Simba lodge which is outside the gate or Ngorongoro wildlife lodge inside the park. Ngorongoro crater is one of the seven wonders of Africa, referred as animal paradise where you will see different species just inside the crater.
Day seven: Lake Manyara national park - You will do game drive at Lake Manyara national park till lunch time then visit market area in mto wa mbu then start driving to Arusha City for overnight at your Hotel or drive straight to the airport for your evening flight to Zanzibar or home. Flight from Lake Manyara to Arusha is only two hours and to Kilimanjaro airport is three hours.

My wife and I just returned from an 8-day safari with Afrishare Trekking and Safaris to Tarangire, the Serengeti, the Great Migration, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara, and Materuni Falls and coffee plantation. Wow. While our experiences with the animals, landscape, and people were amazing, our exeprinces with Afrishare were even better. We booked on Viator after reading the 100 reviews (almost all 5 stars) and immediately received personalized communication from the owner Ibrahim. Whenever we had a question, Ibrahim promptly responded in a very helpful manner. The first morning of the safari our guide Freddy was there and was genuinely happy to meet us. Freddy is very knowledgeable (7 years experience), pleasant, polite, fun, and dedicated to meeting our needs to make our adventure memorable. He succeeded. Afrishare is a smaller safari company, and we think that is what allowed for the dedicated and personalized service we received. The vehicle was comfortable (pop-top extended Land Cruiser) in excellent condition. The roads are tough on these vehicles, but Freddy regularly checked it over and was quick to seek care if the vehicle appeared to need it (like a 10 minute clutch adjustment). The accommodations were superb. My favorite was the Acacia Serengeti Camp. Luxe tented rooms from which you look directly into the Serengeti. Immersion with great comfort. Go with Afrishare. Ask for Freddy. You will not be disappointed. We will next time! 6 stars.
