About this activity
Days 1: Arusha, Tanzania
Upon arrival we are met and transferred to our lodge. Lake Duluti Serena Hotel
Days 2-3: Arusha - Tarangire National Park
We fly to Tarangire National Park where we spend the next two days. Second only to the Ngorongoro Crater in its density of Tanzanian wildlife, Tarangire is home to large herds of eland, oryx, wildebeest and zebra, along with a sizeable elephant population. Bird watching is exceptional in the park's diverse habitats and we may spot a Bateleur or Martial eagle soaring overhead. Malamboi Tented Camp B,L,D
Day 4: Tarangire National Park -Ngorongoro Highland
We explore Tanzania by land and air. At quaint Gibbs Farm, we stop for a farm-fresh lunch before continuing to the Ngorongoro Crater, a huge natural amphitheater created by the collapse of an ancient volcano. Inside its walls, we see local Maasai herdsmen and their cattle amid a fascinating microcosm of East African wildlife, including buffalo, rhino, lion and leopard. Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge B,L,D
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater
We descend to the Crater floor to spend a full day game viewing with a midday break for a picnic lunch. More than 30,000 animals thrive in this enclosed grassland, including hippos that live in the central soda lake, Magadi. Bird life here includes ostrich, crested crane, flamingo and egret. Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge B,L,D
Day 6: Serengeti National Park
Today we drive to the Manyara airstrip and board a flight for the great grassland plains of Serengeti National Park. We arrive in time for a morning game drive with a bush lunch. Dinner in camp follows an afternoon game drive. Kirawira Serena Luxury Tented Camp B,L,D
Day 7: Serengeti
A full day of exploration in the Serengeti. We follow plains game and attendant predators on their daily rounds of pursuit and survival, and end our day with a sundowner on a kopje (rocky outcropping) overlooking the vast Serengeti Plain. Kirawira Serena Luxury Tented Camp B,L,D
