About this activity
Asti, a Medieval Odissey is a guided walking tour in the old town of Asti. It starts in the main square of the city in front of the church dedicated to the patron Saint - San Secondo at 02.30 pm. The Guide will then take you to the Historical Archive of the municipality, home of a collection of unique medieval parchments that tell the story of the city and its relationship with the Holy Roman Emperor and other local superpowers. The close by Gothic Cathedral will then be visited, including the Renaissant altar pieces and the paleo-christian remanis of the previous Church. A stroll through the city center will then lead you to the Romanesque replica of the Holy Sepulchre Round, build by the Knights of St. John from Jerusalem to assist the Christian Pilgrims during their long journeys towards the Holy Land.
The tour has a duration of 3 hours and involves some walking in narrow and uneven paved street of the old town.
Entrace fees to the Historic Archive and the Holy Sepulchre Round are included.
Parties of 10 and above will be provided with headset to properly hear the Guide
