About this activity

Chiarlo is a member of The Grand Wine Tour: an Association of the finest wineries across Italy offering exclusive wine tastings, boutique hotels, Michelin-starred restaurants & unique activities dedicated to wine lovers and a luxury clientele. TGWT Mark of Excellence is the very first Italian certification of quality distinguishing high standards in wine tourism hospitality.

Located in Calamandrana in Monferrato, Michele Chiarlo produces wines from some of the most prestigious vintages in Piedmont: Cannubi and Cerequio in Barolo, Asili and Faset in Barbaresco, and Rovereto in Gavi. The cellar is located in one of the most beautiful estates in the territory, La Court.

The cellar only vinifies the indigenous Piedmontese grape varieties as varietal wines, using only Nebbiolo, Barbera, Cortese and Moscato.

Certified by VIVA Sustainable Wine in 2011, Michele Chiarlo follows an integrated and sustainable agricultural approach that carefully monitors their environmental impact and all stages of production.

The estate's property also includes the Art Park La Court – the first open-air art museum among the vineyards, with works by Emanuele Luzzati, Ugo Nespolo, Giancarlo Ferraris and Chris Bangle – and the Relais Palas Cerequio, the first wine station expressly dedicated to the famous Barolo wines, where half a century of Barolo vintages are kept. Le Relais includes the Vertigo restaurant and offers a unique tasting option with more than 400 labels made from the Barolo's nine most famous vintages.

Art Park La Court and Relais Palas Cerequio are both located in the "Langhe-Roero and Monferrato Wine Landscapes", which have been listed as Unesco World Heritage Sites since 2014.
