Budget 4-Day Nile Cruise from Aswan to Luxor

4 days
About this activity
Day 1: (L, D)

Your local representative will collect you from Aswan airport between 6 and 8am and transfer you to the port in comfortable, air-conditioned transport to board your cruise ship. The first day begins with a day tour of Aswan, visiting the 1960s Aswan High Dam and UNESCO-listed Philae Temple. (If you're starting from an Aswan hotel, you'll be collected at 8am and tour the High Dam and Philae before you board.)

Around 1pm you'll embark for the cruise to Kom Ombo, enjoying a delicious lunch and afternoon tea on board. At Kom Ombo, visit the unique double temple dedicated to the falcon god Horus and crocodile god Sobek, before embarking for Edfu. Along the way you'll enjoy dinner on board, followed by dancing.

Day 2: (B, L, D)

After breakfast the next day, explore the Temple of Horus in Edfu, one of Egypt's best-preserved shrines that was completed during the reign of the legendary Cleopatra. Enjoy lunch on board, and soak up the Nile landscapes as you cruise to Luxor, where you can enjoy afternoon tea, another wonderful dinner on board and a galabeya (kaftan) party, where you dress in traditional Egyptian gowns.

Day 3: (B, L, D)

Enjoy breakfast on board before exploring some of the most iconic sights in UNESCO-listed ancient Luxor. You'll start on the West Bank, visiting the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon, return to the boat for lunch, then have the afternoon at your leisure. Choose between exploring Luxor's East Bank, perhaps shopping for souvenirs at the bustling markets, and relaxing on board with afternoon tea. Enjoy dinner on board.

Day 4: (B)

Enjoy your last breakfast on board, before you disembark at 10am and visit Luxor's East Bank. Explore Luxor Temple, with its vast courtyard and granite obelisks built by Ramses II, then can choose to take a horse-drawn carriage (own expense) or bus to the nearby Temple of Karnak. Here, your guide will show you the Avenue of Sphinxes, the Hypostyle Hall with its 134 towering columns, the obelisks built by Queen Hatshepsut and King Tutmosis III, the Temple of Amun, and the site of the Sacred Lake. Your tour finishes at 2pm, when you'll be transferred to the airport, train station, or a Luxor hotel
