About this activity
Enjoy a 3 Days Tour in the Mighty Waikato Region & Bay of Plenty.
Tour Pick up can be arranged from Auckland City, Auckland Airport, Tauranga or Rotorua.
Day 1 :
Auckland City Highlights including Bastion Point, One Tree Hill (Auckland tallest Volcano intact), Winter Gardens, Achilles Point.
Enjoy a scenic drive to Matamata town where you'll enjoy a 2 hour guided tour of the Hobbiton Movie Set.
You'll enjoy 12-acre set views of the Hobbiton farm, Hobbit Holes, the Mill and into the world-famous Green Dragon Inn, where you will be presented with a complimentary exclusive Hobbit Southfarthing beverage to conclude your own Middle-earth adventure.
after you finish your Hobbit Journey, you'll have some time to have some lunch
(Additional Cost) at the Shire's Rest or Matamata.
Day 2 :
Explore Te Puia Geothermal Valley where you can watch live Kiwi Birds, Smell the beautiful Manuka Flower, Watch the Puhotu Geyser Eruption (the Largest geyser in the southern hemisphere), You'll have a glimpse of the Maori Cultural Performance and you will see how the great Maori carvings are made at the National Carving Institute inside Te Puia.

Day 3 :
Waitomo Glowworm caves - See the magical luminous worms inside the famous Waitomo Grotto on a one hour guided tour inside the cave wrapping it up with a boat ride on the Waitomo River gazing silently at a glowing underground sky.
Otorohanga Kiwi House & Native Bird Park – the best place in NZ to see a
Walk through New Zealand's largest dome aviary - you'll even see unique Tuatara reptiles, which pre-dated the dinosaurs, basking in the summer sunshine.
Wander along the Park's tree-lined paths and see a great range of New Zealand native birds - Kea, Kaka, Kakariki (parakeets) native wood pigeons, waterfowl and so much more!
Hamilton Gardens -
The most popular visitor attraction in Waikato, this 54-hectare park is based on the banks of the
Waikato River and includes enclosed gardens, open lawns, a lake, a nursery, a convention centre and the Hamilton East Cemetery.
The site features 21 gardens representing the art, beliefs, lifestyles and traditions of different civilisations or historical garden styles. These gardens are grouped into the Paradise, Productive, Fantasy, Cultivar and Landscape garden collections, and there is space for gardens which are still in development.
Enjoy a scenic 90 Min River Cruise downstream, it’s a totally unique view of New Zealand’s largest inland city. Highlights include The Claudelands Bridge, built in 1884 and some amazing riverside property.
