Waitomo & Rotorua with Skyline Gondola - Full Day Tour

This full day luxury coach tour from Auckland is not to be missed. Your first stop is Waitomo Caves, marvel at the shimmering lights of thousands of tiny glow-worms during a magical subterranean experience. Travel further south to Rotorua and see their impressive geysers, bubbling mud pools. You will be transported to the Skyline Gondola to enjoy panoramic views of Rotorua and its surroundings. Depart Auckland, traveling down the main southern route from the city, through small rural townships steeped in early pioneer history. A morning snack will be served en route. Continue through New Zealands largest dairy and sheep farming province and then move onto the Waitomo Glow Worm Caves. The highlight of your visit will be a gentle boat ride along an underground stream, drifting past thousands of glow worms lighting up the cave walls. A packed lunch is served on board the coach as your tour continues from Waitomo Caves to Rotorua. There is a Smoked chicken, Roast Beef, Smoked ham or vegetarian options available. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the Skyline Gondola. Located on the side of Mt Ngongotaha, you will be carried 487 meters above sea level to enjoy panoramic views of Rotorua and its surroundings. Rejoin the coach for what we believe is the highlight of the day: a visit to Te Puia, home of New Zealands Maori arts and crafts. Your visit will commence with a 40-minute Maori Cultural Performance. This performance includes a welcome Powhiri, Haka, Poi Dance, and Stick Games. Some members of the audience will be invited to participate in a Haka (Maori War Dance). Following the performance, join a guided tour of Te Puia. Learn the history of Maori carving, weaving and their pre-European lifestyle. Your final stop in Rotorua is a visit to Te Puia geothermal area to see the Pohutu Geyser, boiling mud pools, fumaroles and colorful silica deposits. Youll also have the opportunity to see Kiwi in Te Puia's nocturnal Kiwi House.
