Stop At: Barton Creek Greenbelt, 200 S Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78704-1046
We will tour Austin's greenbelt on high quality mountain bikes. It's a roughly 5 mile (roundtrip) engaging course along Barton Creek over genuine trails surrounded by lush greenery and amazing wildlife. We will stop a couple of times for scenic photo ops and water.
We will actually hike the bikes down to the first stop (10 to 15 minutes depending on group). This is not only safer, but also allows everyone to get their "trail legs" under them, and a pre-mounted feel for their two-wheeled steads on terrain.
There are a handful of places along the journey where it is advisable to dismount briefly, nearly all of which coincide with the aforementioned photo ops.
