Full-day tour of spectacular Hilltop Villages of the Luberon

During this full-day excursion, you will discover the best of the Luberon, a Provençal patchwork of hilltop villages, vineyards, ancient abbeys and mile after mile of fragrant lavender fields. A rural region that makes time for the good things in life – especially food and wine. Nearly every village hosts its own weekly market, packed with stalls selling local specialties, olive oil, honey, and lavender.

You will visit first the village of Gordes, one of the most beautiful villages in France where you will spend a good hour exploring narrow streets in search of antique shops, galleries, cafes, and boutiques.

You will discover then a unique place classified as a historical monument, the Village des Bories composed of seven groupings of dry stone huts.

You will then see the villages of Roussillon, Menerbes, and Lacoste, the village of the Marque de Sade’s 11th-century castle, with its impressive public artworks and quaint tiny houses. In 1771 the Marquis fled Paris to escape the scandals created by his erotic writing. Today the château belongs to Pierre Cardin.

The tour will after take you through Bonnieux and Lourmarin Once a quiet farming town, now its streets are lined with upmarket design shops, galleries, and boutiques. Apart from walking around town, you will also discover the Renaissance Château de Lourmarin.

At the end of the tour, you will be driven via Cavaillon to Avignon or Aix-en-Provence & Marseille.
