Private Guided Bike Tour Around Saint Rémy and the Provencal Countryside

After being picked up from your hotel in Avignon you will be driven for 30 minutes to the village of Saint Rémy de Provence to begin your guided bike ride. There's a lovely Wednesday market that covers the entire center of the village. if you happen to be there on that day. In Saint Rémy you will be fitted with a high-quality hybrid bicycle, a helmet, and a saddle bag. You can choose to wear bicycle-specific clothing (bib-shorts and a cycling jersey) but comfortable gym clothes are sufficient. You can wear running shoes for the flat pedals. It is recommended that you bring a rain-jacket in case of bad weather that you can store in your saddle bag.

 

The riding is mostly flat around Saint Rémy, through a countryside of olive groves, isolated farmhouses, and cypress trees. There is a 1.5km hill before reaching the Monastery of Saint Michel de Frigolet where we can pause at length for a picnic lunch (not included). If you'd rather have a restaurant lunch there are plenty of options along the cycling route which you can discuss with your guide on the day (own expense). 

After lunch you will return to Saint Rémy by bike which will finish your loop. We can stop for wine and olive tastings on the way (not included), You will then be driven back to your hotel in Avignon for around 5pm. The total ride is 45km, mostly flat with one hill of 1.5km along the way (it's possible to dismount and walk along this section if necessary).
