Autumn tour of Baku
4 h
About this activity
Our walk begins with Park Boulevard, one of the most popular shopping malls in the city. If you wish, we will visit the “Bazarstore” supermarket and I will introduce you to local products that can be very profitably bought in it, without spending a lot of money on them in “tourist” shops.
Then we walk along Baku Boulevard, where we will meet unique plants, such as baobabs and huge cacti (a garden called the “Baku piece of Mexico”). For guests with children, we can make stops along the way so that children can romp at the rides. You will learn how this unique park was created, about how the sea then drowned it, then on the contrary escaped, baring a deserted shore. On our way will be many modern and ancient buildings (for example, the Government House - the most monumental building of the Soviet era), amazing stories of which I will tell you. At the same time, I will try to share with you the most useful information regarding our city.
If this day will be windy and cold weather, we will replace the walk along the boulevard with a trip to the Temple of Fire - “Ateshgah”, near the fire of which you can warm up.
Next, start the car part of the tour. After passing to the territory of the new Baku Boulevard (which most travelers do not usually see), we will stop, I will give you a beautiful lock and you will snap it on the Wish Tree (the keys will then need to be thrown into the sea and then this wish will come true). After that we will go to admire the most modern city quarter of the city - “Baku White City”. This is a "city in a city", which is often compared to Paris. I will tell you how incredible efforts have turned this city from “black” into “white”.
Then we will go around the Old City and admire the Maiden Tower, the Hajiyevs Palace, the Rothschild Residence (Deburov Palace), the Governor’s Garden, the Philharmonic Hall, Ismailia and many other palaces of the first oil boom era. I will tell you their legends and amazing stories. We will descend to the old “Double Gate”, I will explain to you the meaning of the coat of arms depicted on them, and also we will admire the amazing architecture of the museum to them. Nizami
Next, we will be waiting for acquaintance with the new symbol of the city of Baku - the Heydar Aliyev Enchanting Center. We will definitely make incredible photos walking along its walls, against the background of the building, as well as near the inscription “I love Baku”. In case of bad weather, we will be able to replace the walk through the Center’s territory by visiting exhibitions in the Center itself.
