About this activity
Day 1: Bangkok to Suphan Buri to Uthai Thani (D)
Depart Bangkok Hotels and drive north to Suphan Buri visiting the city pillar shrine, built in Chinese style, then continue to an orchid farm. Next stop is the 100 years old Sam Chuk riverside market - influenced by Chinese architecture, these modest shops are full of charm and character.
Enjoy exploring the market and be sure look out for the photograph shop which still takes pictures with a century-old camera and take some time for Thai coffee by the river.
Then proceed to Wat Tasung Temple, the biggest and most famous temple in Uthai Thani, serving as Buddhist meditation center.
Enjoy a boat ride on the Sakaekrang River and relax as you watch "river life" in many forms. From typical raft houses of the local fishermen to their fish farms built on the river. Transfer to your accommodation, the Country Lake Nature Resort, surrounded by beautiful forest. Simple yet comfortable, these country style bungalows have private facilities, air condition and fan. Overnight: Country Lake Nature Lodge
Day 2: Ban Rai Village to Hub Patad (B,L)
After breakfast, drive to Ban Rai. Visit Wat Tham Khao Wong, a Buddhist temple built in 1987 with its two-story Thai-style hall and unique landscape. Further onwards is the Lao-Krang community, whose ancestors migrated from Laos hundred years ago and brought with them unique silk weaving tradition and patterns. Then proceed to Hub Pa Tad Valley, surrounded by the old limestone mountains. Explore the hidden forest of rare big palm trees that resemble "Jurassic Park". Overnight: Country Lake Nature Lodge
Day 3: Bung Boraphet Swamp to Ayutthaya to Bangkok (B,L)
After breakfast, proceed to Nakorn Sawan province, the gateway to the North of Thailand. Drive to Bung Boraphet, the largest single wetland site of Thailand. The area is a wonderful non-hunting bird sanctuary suitable for bird watching and sight-seeing. Enjoy a boat trip to spot many different wetland bird species and water plants such as water lilies and lotus flowers.
You will have an opportunity to visit the nearby aquarium and crocodile breeding pond. Then continue to the UNESCO world heritage site of Ayutthaya to visit the historical park. Visit the historic ruins of the temple Wat Yai Chai Mongkol before driving back to Bangkok.
After lunch at a local restaurant you can transfer to your hotel in Bangkok or the airport.
