About this activity
Day 1:
Today you will be picked up from New Road Guest House around 8.45am in the morning and head towards Kanchanaburi (a 3-4 hour drive). Upon arrival you check into a local guesthouse. In the afternoon you will cycle around the beautiful town of Kanchanaburi. You will also visit the Kao Poon Cave and Chung Kai War Cemetery. Return to Kanchanaburi for the main attraction; the Bridge over the River Kwai. You will return for dinner at your guesthouse. The remainder of the evening is at your leisure. (L, D)
Day 2:
After breakfast you will continue to Sai Yok National Park. You will visit a waterfall and the Hellfire Pass on the WWII-era railroad. After a local lunch the trip continues to Hin Dad Hot Springs, where you can enjoy waters that can reach up to 40 degrees. Don't forget your swimsuit!
Visit a local Karen village called Nong Bang where you'll go deep into the jungle by 4WD-car. From here begin a 4-5 hour trek through the bamboo forests. The trekking ends at a bamboo hut in the middle of the jungle where you will stay overnight. Be aware that staying in the jungle means basic conditions (e.g. no electricity). (B, L, D)
Day 3:
After breakfast you begin your trek and bamboo rafting back to Nong Bang. Here you will dine with the locals before returning to Kanchanaburi. In the afternoon, a train will take you over the tree-covered viaduct on the historical route known as "The death rail way" (about 30 min). When you reach the station, your transport waits for you to take you back to Bangkok. Expect to be back at New Road Guest House in Bangkok around 8:30pm
